I wrote a story for the NYT's Circuits section about some personal cell phone trauma that, as of this moment, is still continuing: 'Portable' Number, Just Out of Reach. I'm trying to get the number from my old Sprint phone transferred over to my new T-Mobile phone, a maneuver that became possible on Monday thanks to new rules. So far this exquisitely automated process has taken 2.5 days.
